Once rich on oil, Venezuela has fallen into crisis. Around Lake Maracaibo, rusting oil wells, pollution, and fuel shortages tell the story of a nation brought down by mismanagement and collapsing oil prices. Hyperinflation has pushed families into poverty, reviving barter, farming, and survival by any means as roads, power, and water fail. Yet amid the ruin, Venezuelans endure—helped by local solidarity and figures like Brother Nelson—proving resilience can still light the way forward.
