We know the rules – NEVER ride a motorcycle at night. It’s just raises the risk of hitting something or getting hit, making the journey especially dangerous. And we always try our best to stick to that rule.

But as we got to the hotel we had planned to stay at just as the sun was setting in Kalimantan, Indonesia, we realized that it was fully booked… And it dawned on us that we’d have to go another forty minutes to the next hotel. In the jungle. On a motorcycle with spotty headlights. Through the complete dark.
