◉ Recently, I bought a 1984 Toyota Tercel 4WD (known in Japan as the Toyota Sprinter Carib 4WD) abandoned. I was drawn to the car by its 1980s design and the fact that it has four-wheel drive. Just the front console alone is worth admiring! The previous owner had this car for a full 23 years, since 2002, when it was exported to my country.
◉ In 2008, after 395,000 kilometers of mileage, the car was parked in the yard of an old, dilapidated house—where it stood for 17 YEARS! But to my surprise, after a few days of tinkering with the Toyota, it started up and DROVE! The clutch and brakes were still functional, and the engine—although it’s an old carbureted one—proved to be very reliable and carried me as far as I wanted.
◉ Unfortunately, the body of this 1984 Toyota Tercel 4WD was so rusted through that just a 10-minute drive rendered it completely immobile, as the suspension and driveshaft could no longer hold on to the rusted frame. Sadly, the fate of this 1984 Toyota Tercel 4WD is sealed—it will be taken apart for parts.
