Litre sportsbikes remain very much alive and kicking, as Kawasaki refreshes their flagship ZX-10 R and homologation-special ZX-10 RR machines for 2026.The most obvious update on the new bikes is a thoroughly reworked aero package that now includes a pair of prominent winglets mounted at the front of the fairing.Kawasaki state that the larger frontal area on the new model produces a massive 25% more downforce than the outgoing bike, helped by the relocated ram-air intake and the shape of the front end. While the 998cc inline-four engine stays largely unchanged, it has received minor revisions—including a second O2 sensor—to comply with Euro5+ standards. The ZX-10 RR further gains Pankl rods, Pankl pistons, and braided front brake hoses.Suspension and chassis geometry have been fine-tuned to handle the extra downforce and boost traction, plus an Öhlins steering damper is now fitted. Stopping power is handled by Brembo M50 monobloc calipers gripping 330mm discs. On the electronics front, the Kawasakis arrive with a complete package of rider aids covering cornering management, traction control, ABS, launch control, integrated braking, and integrated braking control. For the first time they also include cruise control and turn-by-turn navigation, with all data displayed on a bigger five-inch TFT dash that connects to phones through Kawasaki’s Rideology app. Pricing is yet to be announced, but the new models will hit dealers in Spring 2026.
