I ran the VIN and realized I traded for a "Ghost." This Ducati 848 was a total loss insurance payout with a hidden theft history—and someone tried to hide the evidence by cutting the VIN.
Welcome back to Revved Up With Mike. This trade just got real. I’m diving into the dark past of this 848 roller that the insurance company paid out as "Salvage," even though a salvage title was never officially issued. It’s a bike with a history that was never supposed to be found.
But the mystery doesn't stop at the frame. I caught a massive red flag on my main Ducati 848 build. While I was told the belts were "just tensioned," the mechanical truth is much worse. I found evidence that the camshaft timing was tampered with and set a full tooth off. In a Testastretta engine, that’s a death sentence.
